Oh my goodness this big sister just couldn't get enough of her new baby sister

Out in the hall all is quite. You would never know of the amazing excitement that was going on behind each door

as a new mommy falls deeply in love with her new baby.

I am so in love with my new maternity gowns. They are so simple and look absolutely amazing!

All you need is two pieces of fabric that are 2 or 2 1/2 yards and a belt of some sort. Yep that's it. Watch my youtube video to see how to do it.

After thinking and praying about this I have decided that I only have a few very special years with my young children to help them feel the magic of Christmas. I don't want to spend all month editing other people's pictures (no offense, I LOVE my clients you are truly amazing people) But I really want to spend Christmas with my children without the stress of work. So here is what I have decided.

Newborn-

Don't worry newborns are not on any kind of a schedule. I take them as they come :0) Just be aware that you may not get all your edits until after Christmas.

Early Bird- Full session $150 any location you would like (traveling fee may apply)

If you are an early bird you can schedule a family session any day of the week (except Sundays and Tuesdays) around 6:30 from now until September 1st. That is only a month away people. These sessions are Full sessions. They are 1 hour long and you get 20 digital images with the print release for $150. I have lots of fun locations here close by to choose from if you would like to avoid the $25 travel fee.

Mini Family Session - 30 min session $95

If you do not book your session for the month of Aug then you are limited to just weekends and just the locations specified. These shoots are mini shoots. They last no longer then 30 min. You will get 10 edited digital images with the print release to print wherever you would like. I will have lots of fun Christmas/family props available, Don't worry I will still make these costume for each family. I will have photos up eventually. It is just too late tonight.

So here is my schedule for the fall. Each day will have 3 slots starting 2 hours before sunset. (the time will change as the months go on)

Mini Back to school shoot - 30 min $75 Aug 1st- Sept 13th any day during the week.

These are done in my in home studio with an adorable vintage desk. You will get 7 edited digital images with the print release. (I may also go on location but I haven't decided yet. I'll let you know)

Mini Fall/Halloween- 30 min $75 Sept 14th- Oct 30th any day during the week.

Mini Christmas  30 min $75 Nov 1st- December 6th (these are for children only no families)

I will have 3 sets to choose from. Christmas Fireplace, Frozen Ice Cave, or Candy Cane Wonderland. You will get 7 edited digital images with the print release.

I will be on Christmas break after this and will not be doing any shoots at all until after Christmas. Except for newborns of course :0).

I really wanted to help him make it but my grandpa is too wonderful and did almost the whole thing himself. I was lucky enough just to take pictures of him doing it.

First we drew the outer circle.

Then after a lot of debate and redrawing of the lines we finally decided on the shape that I wanted it to be and Grandpa cut it out for me.

Then he used the scaps to create a tiny shelf for us to put the board on later.

I took all my pieces home and my husband and I put it together later (I thought I had pictures of it but I can't find them any where.)

But we finally got the prop all finished and painted and then I had to wait for little Luna to be born. That was a very long month (I'm sure it was for her momma too). I am so amazed with how they turned out. So without further aduei here is 7 day old Baby Luna on her custom built moon. (And this my friends is why you contact me a few months in advance so we can start planning. It will give me time to make whatever thing we can dream up.)

So this is how I made the cape.

I used a bib as a guide and then just made it a little longer (make sure to cut a seam allowance) I actually had the red material and my mom was getting rid of the blue. Yippy, score. I used spray adhesive to put the stars on. It didn't work very well :( Make sure to sew them on too. It is a little late for me unless I hands stitch it. Anyways just learn from my mistake.

Then I sewed the casing for the wire (I got the wire at the dollar store in the floral area). You should probably cut the casing on the bias but i am a really lazy sewer and just cut it straight across. Don't tell my mother-in-law she would roll over in her grave :0) Oh how I miss you Mom!!!! Now I sewed the casing onto one of the pieces of the cape.

Make sure to turn the ends in you don't want to leave a sharp edge that could hurt the baby.

I always seem to miss at least one picture during the process (mainly because I always make it up as I go along) Once you have your casing on and the ends turned in sandwich the two pieces together with the wrong sides together and sew. I added some red velcro to each side a viola I'm done. Originally I made a mask out of black felt but I didn't like how it looked so I bought one at walmat that came with a cape for $6. You may just want to use the material from that cape to make your newborn cape. Since I already had my new cape my boys inherited it :0)

We waited a little longer for this sweet fellow to fall asleep. In the end I always win!!!!
